The Benefits of Our Hemp Anxiety Aid
Created with a combination of unique ingredients including Australian hemp oil for dogs
Preliminary studies are showing that hemp oil is having a positive effect on dogs suffering from mild anxiety.
Knowing that we could help our furry pals, we took our Australian hemp seed oil and combined it with other powerful natural ingredients to create our Hemp Anxiety Aid.
Dogs can experience stress and anxiety in different ways, just like people
With so many owners feeling lost, helpless, and unable to ease the anxiety of their beloved dogs, we knew that a natural solution was needed.
Whether your pooch suffers from separation anxiety, is afraid of loud noises, or doesn’t like being left alone, our Hemp Anxiety Aid helps to keep them feeling calm and relaxed.
Inspired by experience and expertise
The inspiration for our Hemp Anxiety Aid came from a proven formula previously developed by Houndztooth founder, Rachael Tricarico, and an associate veterinarian for her performance horses.
We re-formulated this with our pet nutritionist and pharmacist to create an anxiety aid specifically for dogs.
Australian hemp: a quick recap
Hemp seed oil is sourced from the seeds of a specific strain of the cannabis Sativa plant. These seeds have very low levels of CBD and there’s a real science to how they function in the body.
Because hemp seed oil is extracted by cold-pressing the seeds of the plant, it doesn’t contain any THC – making it safe and legal for people and pets to use in Australia (and in many other parts of the world, too!).
While it definitely won’t get your furry friend high (unlike its cousin, THC), hemp seed oil – when combined with our unique natural ingredients below – will help to reduce symptoms of anxiety and distress.
The 7 beneficial ingredients of our Hemp Anxiety Aid
Our Hemp Anxiety Aid is a unique, natural blend of pure Australian hemp seed oil, hemp seed powder, L-Tryptophan, B vitamins, magnesium, ginger, green tea, and Australian Salmon.
Each of these ingredients has different properties, listed below:
1. Australian grown and sourced hemp seed oil & powder
We use Australian grown and sourced hemp seed oil & powder to directly target your dog’s anxiety and stress. And here’s one for the environment – hemp is one of the most sustainable crops in the world!
The no. 1 ingredient in the Hemp Anxiety Aid for calming your precious pup, tryptophan is one of the 10 amino acids in dogs which form the building blocks of protein.
Of the functions amino acids are required for, tryptophan in dogs is of particular importance for the production of hormones and neurotransmitters. Sounds science-y, we know!
Put simply, it helps with the following:
Melatonin: a hormone responsible for regulating sleep and seasonal reproduction.
Serotonin: a neurotransmitter that regulates things like mood, sleep and appetite.
Vitamin B3: also known as Niacin, this vitamin helps to prevent deficiencies such as mouth ulcers and loss of appetite associated with weight loss and anorexia in dogs.
3. B vitamins
B vitamins – specifically Vitamin B6 – help to calm dogs through the process of converting 5HTP to serotonin (serotonin makes us feel good!).
The second most abundant mineral in your dog’s body after potassium, magnesium is a necessity in helping your pup with all bodily functions and moods. Magnesium aids in the contracting and relaxing of muscles as well as muscle regeneration. This vital mineral plays an important role in your dog’s mental and emotional well-being.
A digestive aid! Ginger helps with nausea caused by anxiety or travel sickness. A stomach soother, if you will.
6. Green tea
Green tea contains powerful antioxidants that help to prevent cell damage.
7. Australian salmon
Added so it tastes yummy!
