What’s Inside the Houndztooth Luxury Dog Grooming Range?

The Houndztooth luxury pet grooming products are little bottles of goodness that not only keep your pooch’s skin and coat healthy and looking great, but are also free from nasties that can hurt your hound or the environment.

First up, all our products are cruelty-free and obviously, they’re pet-friendly. We are animal lovers and promise to never ever use anything that could be harmful or sneaky in any of our grooming products.

Our shampoos and conditioners are all palm-oil free and paraben-free. There is no Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or EDTA – both of which can irritate the skin – no artificial colours, no harsh ingredients and no synthetic fragrances. Our products smell good because they contain real, plant-based ingredients and Australian botanical essential oils!

But the real trick with Houndztooth products is that they work wonders on both the dog’s fur and their skin.

We’re proud to be the first complete range of shampoos that use goat milk as a base, with all Houndztooth shampoos and conditioners using this liquid goodness to balance your dog’s skin and coat. And we don’t mind boasting about it either!

Goat milk is a lovely, gentle ingredient that is packed full of vitamins to feed the skin such as Vitamins A, C, D and E, it also has anti-inflammatory properties and can help treat eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. If you have a dog with sensitive skin look no further. Our shampoos and conditioners are going to knock your socks off.

We also use oatmeal in Stella’s and Charlie’s Blend Shampoos, as well as the Stella’s Blend Conditioning & Deodorising Spray and Charlie’s Blend Conditioning & Deodorising Spray. Oatmeal has been used for hundreds of years to soothe itchy and irritated skin and is a bit of a secret weapon for dogs with sensitive skin. And just in case your pup is allergic to oatmeal, Hugo’s Blend No 1 is oatmeal-free.

Houndztooth products contain virgin coconut oil which is arguably the best skin moisturiser out there (don’t tell Nivea!) and has antibacterial properties.
Because nobody wants their best friend to have a bad hair day, we also use specially formulated plant-based ingredients to promote lustre and volume.

Named after each of the dogs that Houndztooth’s founder, Rachael Tricarico, has owned, each product contains a unique mix of Australian botanical essential oils to keep your pup smelling fresh:

• Hugo’s Blend No 1: A lemon myrtle and peppermint blend with Australian banksia extract and virgin coconut oil to clean, condition, moisturise and nourish your dog’s skin.
• Stella’s Blend No 2: Uses a Manuka honey and almond oil blend, harnessing the power of lavender, rosemary and paperbark essential oils to clean, condition and balance your dog’s skin.

• Charlie’s Blend No 3: Green tea and Australian almond oil mixed with lemon myrtle, fir needle and lavender to provide a rich scent and powerfully nourish your dog’s skin and coat.

• Coco’s Blend No 4: Soothing aloe vera, tea tree, lavender, cucumber, chamomile and calendula with moisturising virgin coconut and Australian almond oils.

Although our products are free from nasties, every single pooch is different and we recommend testing out our products on a small area of your dog’s skin before full use.
